Privacy policy
Last updated September 12, 2026
This policy explains what MadFish Solutions, LLC (“MadFish”, “we”) collects through the Black Beach POS website and the Black Beach POS service, how we use it, and the choices you have. Black Beach POS is sold to retail businesses. When a store uses Black Beach POS to record its customers’ information, the store is the controller of that information and we process it on the store’s behalf under our Terms of service.
Information we collect on this website
- What you send us. The Get Started form asks for your store name, your name, email, phone, store URL, number of locations and current point of sale. We use it to reply to you and to set up your account if you go ahead.
- Checkout. Starting a trial sends your store name and email to our billing system and to Stripe, who handle your card and billing address. We never see or store your card number.
- Cookies. The website uses no cookies. The Black Beach POS application uses a session token to keep you signed in.
- Server logs. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) are kept for security and are deleted on a rolling basis.
Information stores keep in Black Beach POS
A store using Black Beach POS keeps its business records: sales, inventory, purchase orders, staff activity, and customer names, contact details, purchase history and store-credit balances. This information belongs to the store. We access it only to operate the service, to support the store at its request, or as the law requires.
- Separation. Every record belongs to exactly one store and is scoped to that store at the database layer.
- Encryption. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Export. A store can export its catalog, stock, sales and customers at any time in standard formats.
- Payments. Card payments at the counter are processed by the store’s own processor. Black Beach POS records the outcome of a payment, never the card number.
How we use information
- To provide, secure and support the service, and to bill for it.
- To send transactional email: receipts, password resets, invoices, pickup notifications a store has switched on.
- To improve the product, using aggregate usage that identifies no store or customer.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host and run the service for us: cloud infrastructure, email delivery, and Stripe for subscription billing.
- Integrations a store turns on, such as BigCommerce, Flxpoint or ShipStation. Only the data needed for that integration is exchanged, and only while it is enabled.
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law. We will notify the store unless the law prevents it.
Your choices
If you sent us a form, email us to correct or delete what you sent. If you are a store’s customer and want to know what a store holds about you, contact the store; we will help the store answer. Account holders can export or delete their data from within the service or by contacting us.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy here and update the date above. Material changes affecting stores will be emailed to the account owner.
